Engineering Polymers for Solar Energy Applications
Solar energy systems rely on polymer components that must perform reliably under continuous outdoor exposure while complying with demanding fire safety standards. From structural parts to electrical enclosures and cable management systems, material performance directly impacts durability, safety, and long-term system efficiency.
UBE Composites Europe offers a comprehensive portfolio of engineering polymers developed for solar energy applications. This range includes polyamides, POM, polycarbonate, PC/ABS blends, and polypropylene materials, available in reinforced and unreinforced grades. These solutions are designed to address key requirements such as mechanical strength, flame retardancy, UV resistance, and dimensional stability.
For solar panel bearing components, selected PA66 and PA6 DINALON® grades, along with DINAFORM® POM copolymers, provide low friction behavior and stable mechanical performance. Glass-fiber-reinforced PA66 grades offer high stiffness and heat resistance, while halogen-free PA6 materials achieve UL 94 V-0 classifications supported by UL Yellow Card certification.
Electrical applications such as solar boxes and cabinets benefit from polycarbonate DINAXAN® and PC/ABS DINABLEND® materials that combine halogen-free flame retardancy, UV stabilization, impact resistance, and high flow properties. Cable protection profiles and corrugated pipes are covered by polypropylene DINAPLEN® grades that are halogen-free, UV stabilized, and heat stabilized, ensuring reliable performance in exposed environments.
