Advanced Gas Barrier Properties in UBE NYLON Materials
Flexible packaging applications require materials capable of controlling gas transmission under different preservation and storage conditions. UBE NYLON materials provide differentiated barrier behaviour across several polyamide structures, allowing packaging performance to be adapted to specific application requirements.
The technical document compares transmission values for oxygen, carbon dioxide, methane, nitrogen, helium, and water vapour under defined testing conditions. PA6 and PA6/6.6 grades show lower oxygen transmission values, while PA6/12 and PA12 structures provide lower water vapour barrier performance. The comparison also illustrates how the CO₂/O₂ permeation ratio varies depending on polymer composition and nylon structure.
These differences support the evaluation of suitable nylon grades for flexible packaging structures requiring controlled barrier performance.
